Look Before You Book

Choosing a venue can be one of the most problematic decisions when planning your wedding. That is why we say, look before you book.  We know there are a lot of wedding venues, but all venues are not created equal.  What makes Mimosa Lake different?

The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake is one of the largest venues in Southern Virginia with a private 30-acre lake.  Everything has been built around the lake, offering stunning views whether you are indoors or outdoors.  The 7200 sq. ft. venue is climate-controlled offering heating and air conditioning making it comfortable year-round. Spacious restrooms located adjacent to the venue can accommodate large crowds with no waiting. Mimosa Lake offers many amenities and unique vintage décor setting it apart from other venues.

The bride and her attendants will be able to get ready in The Bridal Suite before the wedding enjoying peace and tranquility as they get ready.  The Bridal Suite  is located inside the venue and gives the bride complete privacy where she waits until the ceremony begins.  The bridal suite has four mirrors, four swivel chairs, and a countertop to make getting ready a breeze. Mimosas, pastries, and snacks will be available for the bridal party to enjoy while getting ready.

The groom and groomsmen will enjoy fishing and lunch across the lake at Cedar Point Pavilion and then go to The Man Cave to hang out and get ready for the wedding.

Mimosa Lake offers the choice of an indoor or outdoor ceremony, giving you greater flexibility in planning your special day. A handcrafted Amish-built gazebo sits lakeside with a beautiful lit water fountain in the water. Wooden hand-built pews separated by a stone walkway can accommodate up to 200 guests for an outdoor ceremony.  A 12 ft x 40 ft stage where the DJ or band can play music is located inside the center of the venue overlooking the lake. A lovely three-panel antique church cathedral window sits center stage where the bride and groom can exchange vows for an indoor ceremony. A 12 ft x 36 ft oak dance floor in front of the stage will have people dancing all night long.

A 12 ft elevated fireplace graces one side of the venue while a 6 ft x 8 ft lit granite wall water fountain and indoor fire pit frame the other wall.  An enclosed Christmas Bar adds a touch of whimsy for serving alcohol.  A restored 1963 Ford Pickup Truck affectionately called “The Gift Truck” holds gifts for the bride and groom.

Caterers will be able to serve easily using the prep room with commercial refrigeration and a food warmer. A separate enclosed serving area, an antique oak cake/dessert table, six rectangular tables, twenty-five round tables, a sweetheart table, and 200 white folding chairs make seating and serving guests effortless.

After the ceremony, guests will enjoy cocktails under the 120 ft covered lit veranda which faces the lake and has a hand-built wooden bar and ten cocktail stations. The grounds boast sprawling green lawns, mature trees, and shrubs. There is a grand fire pit for gathering on chilly evenings and a 10 ft. wooden cross for a beautiful photo backdrop.

Make this day unforgettable for everyone who attends.  The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake is unlike any other venue, it is over the top.
